There are various WILDLIFE, MARINE & CONSERVATION VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS available that run for the duration of 5 days, 2 weeks or 4 weeks. The programs take place in the Garden Route, South Africa, primarily around Plettenberg Bay.
African Edu-Eco Wizard is commited to give you an experience of a lifetime all the while assisting in conservation efforts. Whether it is working with elephant management initiatives or in the day-to-day operation of a game ranch or being involved in an outcome based research program, there is a program where you can get down and dirty and have an adventurous, experiential, fun-filled and fulfilling African experience. The Addo Elephant National Park is a national park dedicated to the preservation and conservation of the African Elephant in Africa today.
This educational Eco-Learning SAFARI program gives an insight into the wild roaming populations of African Elephants and the way that they have adapted to change and sound wildlife management strategies and initiatives in established Game Reserves and National Parks. The African elephant is an iconic for Africa, and it is the largest land mammal in the world. It captivates and evokes emotion. If you want an up-front and close ‘living’ encounter with our resident elephants, then this Eco-Volunteer program is for you.
This African Elephant “BIG FOOT” Living Eco-Learning Volunteer Awareness Program, utilising innovative approaches to deciphering observable elephant behaviour and applying sound operational animal management care, husbandry and welfare strategies in a quasi captive environment.

As we all know Africa is the home to the iconic King of the Beasts – the African Lion. But Africa is also host to a wide and diverse variety of other predators which will be revealed in his 2-week African Predi-Cat Management & Behavioural Awareness Eco-Volunteer Learning Program.
Through operational animal management and care, husbandry and application of welfare strategies, this program gives you an insight into Africa’s predators and the way that they have adapted to the change in their environment. You will leave with an enriched Predator ‘sense’ and long lasting memories.

The marine environment has always fascinated man and for many years was relatively unexplored. During this awesome and educational experience you can uncover the private lives of a number of iconic marine mammals such as whales, dolphins, seals, penguins, otters, reef animals and coastal and pelagic birds. We also delve into and discuss a variety of marine and coastal conservation issues.
The Eco-Learning Volunteer Program is a hands-on experience that offers interactive learning using the principles of observation, interpretation and deduction.

2-WEEK WILDLIFE REHABILITATION AND CONSERVATION RESEARCH/PROJECT ECO-LEARNING VOLUNTEER PROGRAM or 4-WEEK – AFRICA’S ICONIC WILDIFE, REHABILITATION AND CONSERVATION ECO-LEARNING VOLUNTEER PROGRAM
This program gives an insight into wildlife rehabilitation practices, veterinarian procedures (from time-to-time) and a host of conservation research initiatives and projects during your stay.
Eco-Learning Volunteers will leave with a better appreciation and understanding of predator and wildlife rehabilitation management in South Africa by experiencing every facet of the day-to-day life of our resident and hospitalised animals and how this contributes to conservation awareness in general in Africa today.

No previous experience is required. You need to be in good health, reasonably fit, have an ability to endure long hours when involved in specific projects and be at least 18 years old and no older than 65 years old. It is necessary for you to be able to speak and understand English so as to converse with your peer volunteers and all the staff assisting with or managing the programs. You must be totally prepared to get down and dirty.
