Ormonde Private Cellar is about an hour's drive from Cape Town on the West Coast of South Africa. The ancient granite intrusion's that are the Darling hills, provide the perfect climate with cold Atlantic Ocean fog and moisture in an otherwise hot climate.
The rich terroir combines rich organic matter, iron, harsh glenrosa forms with an abundantly rich floral kingdom. One of the 600 indigenous species is the Gladiolus Carinatus or 'Bloupypie'. It thrives in our terroir and is a symbol of the unique character of our wines.
Enjoy the iconic West Coast hospitality, make a day and drive out for a fantastic wine tasting, chocolate pairing or enjoy delectable platters filled with local cheeses and charcuterie.
