Big Tree Tour
Experience the beautiful Knysna forest with a guided drive through the pristine indigenous forest. First stop, a look at the famous King Edward V11 Outeniqua Yellowwood Tree, a giant of approximately 660 years old, with a relaxing circular walk of about 500m at the Big Tree. Millwood Gold Mine Tour
Millwood is where gold was mined briefly in the late 1800’s and is great venue for a forest outing. We start with a gentle 3km walk along the river experiencing pristine indigenous forest, ancient trees, huge tree ferns, arum lilies and fungi. On route we also explore some of the old shafts dug by the miners. After arriving at a small waterfall and swimming hole we make our way back to the Jubilee Creek picnic site. Thereafter we visit Mother Holly’s Mining museum and tea room, before finishing the day with a very short trail and visit the old mining area where we creep into one or two old shafts to have a peek at the old machinery.
